About Dylan Jawahir, L.Ac., L.M.T.
The power to heal has always been inside of you. I can help you to rediscover it.
I am not here to heal you. I am only here to guide you towards healing yourself.
I have always been fascinated with how things worked. As a child, I would tear everything apart from furniture to robots to see what was inside. That curiosity pushed me into the University of Florida towards a Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering degree.
When I left university to start a career in tech, I thought I would get to add value to society by creating cutting edge computing devices. It didn’t take long to see the imbalance between work and life. Overwhelmed by long hours, uncaring bosses, and a general office feeling of discontent, my stress rose and my health started to decline.
The hours between Monday morning and Friday evening were filled with anxiety which wreaked havoc on me physically. I showed almost all the signs of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and even started to have some autoimmune problems.
But what really hit me was the severe depression. I was in the midst of a quarter life crisis where I no longer felt in control of anything I was doing. I knew that I needed to leave the tech career behind if I was to survive. (It may sound like I was overreacting, but I was literally falling apart.)
I quit my job.
Afterwards, I went into a journey of self discovery. I read tons of self-help books and studied philosophy, meditation, yoga, you name it. I enrolled in the local school of acupuncture & traditional Chinese medicine to take a few classes. Enamored, I spent even more time there learning everything I could about natural health and healing. Four years later, I had become a certified massage therapist and a licensed acupuncturist.
Since then, I’ve gotten married, had two children, opened a practice, and focused my practice on sports medicine & natural pain management.
Lucky for you, I’m a bit of a fitness freak. I’ve tested many of the ideas, thoughts, theories, & protocols for healing injury on myself.
There are plenty of people out there that will isolate your pain & injury to a purely physical phenomenon. But if you want to unlock a higher level of health and healing that transcends the physical realm, I am here to show you the way.
In my spare time, you can find me acting, modeling, cycling, running, weightlifting, snowboarding, & spending time with my beautiful wife and two incredible children.
“In movement, you will find health, and in stillness, peace.”
